Hip, Hip, Hooray to Science!
Did you know that there is robotic slime? It’s groundbreaking, and it was just invented last year by a team of scientists led by Li Zhang in Hong Kong. Scientists and researchers across the globe are fascinated by this robotic, magnetic slime which can crawl into crevices and grab things or fix broken circuits.
It’s basically Venom… like from Spider-Man. Only real.
In fact, some people are even confusing this magnetic slime with Venom from the Marvel franchise. Researchers looked at Marvel’s concept Venom and thought, “Hey, I can make that.” And then they did.
After its invention was reported in a scientific journal, the researchers and discoverers spent days buried in phone calls from other scientists around the world and potential investors. Understandably. It’s literally robotic slime.
Researchers now plan to study its use as a tool in surgeries. They want to make slime a surgeon’s “third hand.” But first, they’ll need to figure out how to fortify it against wet conditions. Because, just like our slime, we don’t recommend adding water.
Science is pretty radical. Venom surgical slime is just the beginning, I’m sure. Look at our slime go! She’s off saving lives.
To honor scientists and researchers, we’ve got a slime or two for you. I can remember a time when the greatest frontier in science was space. We commemorated the Space
