Retro Retrospect

The Easter song “Here Comes Peter Cottontail” was composed in 1950 by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins.  Gene Autry, a famous country singer, had hit songs with “Here Comes Santa Clause” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.” The composers asked Gene Autry to sing their song, and it became an instant hit in 1950 and is one of the most popular Easter songs.
